A cozy industrial inspired vacation home that prioritizes comfort and celebrates the stunning surrounding landscapes, Casa Poás is situated within a nature reserve on the slopes of the Poás Volcano. We sought to create a comfy interior whilst maintaining our design intent of creating a calm retreat. A place where the owners of the home and their family can rest and enjoy, recouping from a busy life. The design responds to the climatic and topographical conditions of the area. We took the utmost care in designing the home to have minimal disruptions to the land, taking advantage of the natural terracing to use the earth as a “windbreaker” and a protective barrier.
